Job summary

Apogee Corporation is seeking an IT Field Technician to repair laptops/desktops and support customers with hardware, software, and networking issues. You will split time between onsite visits and remote support, ensuring quick fault resolution and high service quality.

The role requires Windows experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. DBS/SC checks apply, and a full driving licence is essential for travel across sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair or IT support.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows experience essential).
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
• Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms
• Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance
• Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades
• Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware
• Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation
• Following data protection, backup, and security procedures
• Escalating more complex issues when required
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication
• Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods
