Job summary

Apogee Corporation Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an IT Field Technician to join our Managed Desktop Services team in Milton Keynes. You will diagnose, repair and maintain laptops, desktops, RPOS systems and related hardware, splitting time between onsite visits and remote support to keep customer systems running smoothly.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, clear communication and first-time fixes, with a typical Monday to Friday pattern from 08:30 to 17:30.

Qualifications

Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair
Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows experience essential, macOS or Linux beneficial)
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques
Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking issues
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Full, clean driving licence

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices
Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms
Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance
Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades
Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware
Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation
Following data protection, backup and security procedures
Escalating more complex issues when required
Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication
Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods
