Job summary

Apogee in Milton Keynes is seeking an IT Field Technician to join our Managed Desktop Services team, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining laptops, desktops, RPOS systems, and related hardware. This hands-on role combines on-site visits with remote support to keep customer systems running smoothly.

You will work in a service-led environment where quality and first-time fix rates matter, with typical hours 08:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair.
Windows experience essential; macOS or Linux beneficial.
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems including Windows and other common platforms.
Support users onsite and remotely, providing clear guidance.
Carry out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware.
Complete accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation.
Follow data protection, backup, and security procedures.
Escalate more complex issues when required.
Maintain high standards of customer service and communication.
