Job summary

Apogee Corporation Ltd is seeking an IT Field Technician to join our Managed Desktop Services team in the UK. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining laptops and desktops, with time split between on-site visits and remote support to keep customers’ systems running smoothly.

You will install and configure operating systems (primarily Windows), troubleshoot hardware and software faults, and provide clear guidance to users.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows essential).
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
• Confident troubleshooting across hardware and basic networking issues.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS check and SC clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other platforms.
• Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance.
• Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
• Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware.
• Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation.
• Following data protection, backup, and security procedures.
• Escalating more complex issues when required.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
• Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods.
