Field Engineer - IT & POS Hardware (Southwest UK)

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer ideally located in or around the Swindon through to Exeter area to become an integral part of a dynamic Engineering Team. You'll be joining a robust network of 60 engineers across the UK, supporting diverse client sites with cutting‑edge IT hardware solutions.

About the Role
  • Installation, deployment, and configuration of IT networking and point‑of‑sale / Epos hardware, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
  • Configuration and troubleshooting to meet client specifications and resolve issues during installation
  • Client interaction – working closely with customers to understand their needs, provide technical support, and ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Documentation – maintaining accurate records of installations and client interactions for transparency and accountability
  • Collaboration – providing daily feedback to the Service Desk to deliver positive solutions for customers
  • Participation in an on‑call rota (including out‑of‑hours and weekend work), supported by colleagues in the Southwest region
  • Overtime opportunities available
Key Requirements
  • Strong technical aptitude with networking and cabling experience (Cisco knowledge desirable)
  • Proven problem‑solving skills, able to work efficiently under SLA deadlines
  • Excellent timekeeping and punctuality
  • Customer‑focused with clear and effective communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, with a proactive, can‑do attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and challenges
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • ServiceNow experience desirable but not essential
  • SC clearance desirable but not essential
  • Full, clean driving licence required
Location

Access to the M4 corridor leading into the Southwest of England is essential to meet customer SLA requirements. Key areas covered include Wiltshire, Bristol, Devon, and Cornwall.
