Intermediate Citrix and Virtualization Consultant – Calgary

We are looking for a knowledgeable and client‑facing Intermediate Citrix and Virtualization Consultant for our Calgary branch to support our client with designing, implementing, and upgrading various Citrix and virtualization technologies. You will also have sufficient technical depth to work with other virtualization, server, and storage technologies.

A Day in the Life

• Provide senior technical support for all server infrastructure components (hardware, software, OS, firmware, network, cloud infrastructure).
• Consult with users and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analysis, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for projects.
• Work with teammates to design and implement complex solutions.
• Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of servers, focusing on utilizing technology to achieve business objectives.
• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for service desk.
• Perform incident root cause analysis and identify workarounds or fixes.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of working experience within an Enterprise environment, supporting diverse IT Infrastructure platforms.
• 3+ years of hands‑on technical experience with the Citrix ecosystem, including XenApp, XenDesktop, Delivery Controllers, StoreFront Servers, Citrix Gateways, and Profile management with FSLogix.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux Server operating systems (4+ years).
• 3+ years of hands‑on technical experience with the architectural and/or deployment and/or operational support of VMware vSphere Hypervisor/ESXi.
• Experience in an Airline setting considered an asset.
• Experience with scripting and automation skills (VMware PowerCLI, Terraform, Bash, PowerShell, Puppet, and/or Ansible).
• Advanced problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in managing service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
• Incident and problem management skills.
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to manage multiple items.
• Willingness to learn related technology and business process.
• Ability to determine root cause from outcomes.

Compensation

$60,835 - $79,847 a year (expected pay range plus 10% variable incentives).
