Cedar is partnered with a private-equity backed technology and infrastructure group to appoint an Interim Director of FP&A. This is a senior 6-month assignment paying £700-£900 per day.

The Role – Interim Director of FP&A
You will take a senior leadership role across planning, analysis, and performance management.
Leadership and Business Partnering
- Lead the FP&A function, setting the standard for high-quality analysis, forecasting, and executive-level insight.
- Partner with the CFO, COO, and senior operational leaders to influence strategic and commercial decision‑making.
- Act as the primary finance lead for major programmes, ensuring financial clarity, accountability, and performance delivery.
Planning, Forecasting and Reporting
- Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle, driving consistent methodologies and robust challenge.
- Oversee monthly performance reporting, including variance analysis, operational KPIs, and strategic commentary for the Board and PE stakeholders.
- Enhance the quality, speed, and automation of management information and dashboards.
Commercial and Project Analysis
- Lead financial analysis across infrastructure build programmes and wider capital projects, ensuring accuracy, risk identification, and ROI assessment.
- Provide modelling and analytical support for bids, investment cases, and scenario planning.
- Drive cost optimisation and performance tracking across project portfolios.
Process and Systems Improvement
- Improve reporting tools, streamline processes, and implement automation to elevate FP&A capability.
- Strengthen financial controls, data integrity, and analytical frameworks across the business.
Your Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in senior FP&A leadership roles, ideally within PE-backed infrastructure, engineering, or operationally complex environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to influence at Executive level and communicate complex financials to non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced financial modelling, data analysis, and MI optimisation capability.
- Prior interim experience beneficial but not essential.
