Interim Executive

Location: Westgate Street, GL1 2TG

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 2+ Months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £411.64 Per Day

Job Responsibilities
  • Review the Local Offer from the perspective of parent carers, young people, professionals (e.g., SENCOs, health staff, social workers), and Ofsted/CQC inspectors.
  • Check that Local Offer information aligns with national SEND policy, including LISO, Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce, ELSEC, and Whole School Improvement Programme.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements across Education, Health and Care services.
  • Create a detailed project plan and timeline for improvements, including clear governance arrangements.
  • Work closely with partners across the local area to deliver improvements.
  • Support co-production with parent carers, young people, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure improved accessibility, clarity, and relevance of all Local Offer information.
Person Specifications
Must Have
  • Strong SEND knowledge and experience.
  • Experience working in education or local authority settings.
  • Ability to analyse services from multiple perspectives (families, professionals, inspectors).
  • Strong understanding of national SEND policy and current programmes (e.g., LISO, AP Specialist Taskforce, ELSEC).
  • Experience managing or delivering change or improvement programmes.
  • Ability to work across Education, Health and Care services.
  • Strong communication and partnership‑working skills.
  • Able to start in early January and work 4 days per week until March 2026.
  • Ability to travel to Gloucestershire for meetings when required.
Nice to Have
  • Experience leading co-production with families and stakeholders.
  • Experience improving Local Offer websites or SEND information systems.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., plain language, inclusive design).
  • Experience developing governance structures for improvement programmes.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted/CQC SEND inspection expectations.
