We are working with a leading business based in West Bromwich who require an AP Clerk to join them on a 3-month contract. They are looking for a self-starter who is able to pick up new systems/processes with ease and is looking for exposure to the broader aspects of finance within an SME-style environment.
What you’ll do:
- Process supplier invoices efficiently and accurately, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies.
- Reconcile supplier statements regularly, identifying discrepancies and resolving queries in a timely manner through considerate communication.
- Prepare payment runs according to agreed schedules, maintaining clear records and liaising with internal teams as needed.
- Support month-end closing activities by providing accurate information on outstanding invoices and payments.
- Respond promptly and politely to supplier queries, building positive relationships through effective communication.
- Assist with the maintenance of accounts payable ledgers, ensuring all entries are up-to-date and correctly coded.
- Work closely with colleagues across the finance department to share information and ensure consistency in processes.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements in accounts payable procedures, helping to create an even more efficient team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times when handling sensitive financial information, demonstrating trustworthiness and professionalism.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions, sharing insights and learning from others.

- Previous experience working within an accounts payable or similar finance role is essential for success in this position.
