Job description

Lincolnshire Music Service is seeking enthusiastic and skilled instrumental tutors to deliver drum kit, piano and/or curriculum music lessons. We are passionate about inspiring young people through music and providing high-quality tuition across the county.

The award‑winning Lincolnshire Music Service provides music opportunities for children and young people throughout Lincolnshire. This outstanding service is the lead organisation of the Lincolnshire Music Education Hub funded by Arts Council England.

Location: Lincolnshire (primarily South Kesteven, East Lindsey and Boston)

Contract Type: Part‑Time Permanent

About the Role
  • Deliver engaging drum kit and piano lessons to pupils of varying ages and abilities, both individually and in groups.
  • Prepare students for performances, exams, and ensemble participation.
  • Work collaboratively with schools and the Music Service team to promote music education.
  • Travel between teaching locations within Lincolnshire (mileage and travel time allowance provided).
  • The ability to offer a second or third instrument would increase the number of hours available.
  • Deliver impactful curriculum music lessons within primary or special school setting.
About You
  • Proficient in drum kit, piano and / or curriculum performance with a strong understanding of technique and musical styles.
  • Experience in teaching children and young people, ideally in a school or music service setting.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all abilities.
  • A relevant music qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • A large proportion of the teaching will take place in the districts of South Kesteven, East Lindsey and Boston.
  • The ability to travel is essential for the role of a peripatetic music tutor.
