The Role

As an Installation and Service Engineer, you will be required to repair mobile devices and printers, supporting our service centre operations from both the field and the workshop. The role will also include onsite installations, where you will help deliver and support a range of advanced technology solutions for our customers, including RFID systems, Self Checkouts (SCOs), Machine Vision, and Fixed Industrial Scanning. Your role will include installing and maintaining these systems at customer sites, making sure all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard. In collaboration with the solutions team, you will be shown various customer focused solutions which will create an understanding of our various solutions to strengthen your overall knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the service centre by performing printer and device repairs when required
  • Install on site at customer locations various solutions from RFID to Self-Checkouts along with other industrial and retail solutions.
  • Perform pre‑installation checks, understand site readiness assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, as scoped by the Solutions team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Solutions team during training and project delivery to understand system functionality and deployment best practices.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Adhere to company policies, risk assessments, and safe working procedures during all site activities.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
  • Experience in technology or equipment installation (e.g., IT systems, electrical, or electronic equipment including printers).
  • Proven ability to use a WMS & ERP system.
  • Be able to deliver against KPI.
  • Proven ability to be able to repair various printers and devices.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider technical team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK (and occasionally abroad if required).
  • Be available to work weekends and also stay overnight when deployed to the installation team (agreed notice given).
Desirable:
  • Experience with RFID, Self Checkout, Machine Vision, or Fixed Industrial Scanning solutions.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices including working at height and using access equipment.
Training and Development

Comprehensive induction including hands‑on training with the Technical Solutions team. Training in RFID, Fixed Scanning, and Machine Vision fundamentals. On site training in all areas of the service centre repair operations.
