Job Title: Injection Mould Designer

Location: Stevenage

Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Injection Mould Designer to join our in-house toolroom on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for designing high-precision injection mould tools—from single-impression moulds to multi-cavity hot runner systems—supporting customers in the medical, automotive, switchgear, and packaging sectors.

Working Hours
  • 41.5 hours per week
  • Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Designing injection mould tools (single impression and multi-cavity hot runner)
  • Component design and optimisation
  • Participating in and conducting design reviews
  • Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
  • Producing detailed 3D & 2D designs (Pro/Engineer Creo and SolidWorks desirable)
  • Managing projects from concept to manufacture
  • Providing customer interaction and technical support
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in injection mould design; Toolmaking experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Side cores, up-and-aways, lifters, and complex motions
    • Hot runner systems
    • Steel @type selection and polymer behaviour
    • Hydraulics and machining strategies
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or safety
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
