A UK government agency is seeking an Information Security/Project Officer to support compliance with Data Protection legislation in the North East Region. The successful candidate will manage information sharing agreements and assist in delivering change initiatives. This role requires collaboration across services to promote a learning culture around information compliance. Candidates should possess experience in change management, project planning, and relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3. A flexible work environment and supportive culture are offered.
The role of the information security/project officer is to support the Regional Information Security and Assurance Lead (RISAL) in ensuring the North East Probation Region achieves and maintains compliance with Data Protection Legislation. The successful candidate will manage preparation and collation of information sharing agreements and ensure these are in place regionally. Knowledge of information assurance and the Data Protection Act would be desirable. The role will also collaborate with services to develop a learning culture around information compliance, quality improvement and support all services within the North East Region. This is a regional role and the successful candidate will be required to travel within the North East Region.
The system change team will be part of the central DDC team but with a matrix line into the Divisional DD. They will deliver against an agreed national change programme. An initial priority will be ensuring integration between PS and CRC. In Wales these will include integration with Probation / Prisons and therefore solid line into HMPPS Wales. The Project Officer role is responsible for assisting the System Change team in helping Deputy Directors to improve the planning and delivery of change programmes, with particular emphasis on continuous improvement and the increased effectiveness of operational processes between the PS and CRCs.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject (or appropriate practical experience). Proficiency with Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (or equivalent, e.g., Lotus Notes).
