A leading security consultancy is seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant to assist in conducting ISO27001 and NIST risk assessments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in information security and eligibility for Security Clearance in the UK. This rolling 6-month contract requires 2-3 days per week in the Manchester, Glasgow, or Birmingham offices. Strong compliance knowledge with cyber assessment frameworks is essential, with additional certifications being advantageous.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant with active Security Clearance (SC Cleared) to assist in running end‑to‑end ISO27001 and NIST framework risk assessments. This role focuses on information assurance, conducting audits, and performing security risk assessments. The role will require 2‑3 days per week in either the Glasgow, Manchester or Birmingham office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits and security risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with cyber assessment frameworks, including mapping controls to current processes.
• Perform risk assessments for network designs to enable them to go live.
• Lead interviews and assessments focused on order and execution, rather than technical aspects.
• Work with cyber assessment frameworks, with knowledge of the ISO27001 NIST Framework being advantageous.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in information security and risk management.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and risk assessment procedures.
• Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) in the UK.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Lead auditor certification is a nice‑to‑have.
• CISSP is a nice to have.

This is a rolling 6 month contract operating INSIDE IR35 and will require 2‑3 days per week in either the Glasgow, Manchester or Birmingham office.
