Spinwell is recruiting for an Information Governance Assurance Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INFORMATION GOVERNANCE ASSURANCE MANAGER

As an Information Governance Assurance Manager the placeholder is expected to provide leadership in developing, implementing, and assuring a fit for purpose information governance framework that takes account of best practice from national policy, the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and internal/external best practice recommendations to complex information governance challenges. Placeholder will provide expert advice on the management of potential data breaches to the Trust and within Norfolk and Waveney ICB if the incident relates to a collaborative work and/or the use of a singular system across multiple organisations within the ICB. Provide guidance on the selection, design, justification, implementation and operation of Digital security strategies, technologies, processes, procedures and standards.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE INFORMATION GOVERNANCE ASSURANCE MANAGER
  • Educated to masters level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in Information Governance.
  • GDPR Practitioner Course
  • Qualification in Information Governance (ISEB Information Security ISEB Information Risk management or equivalent)
  • Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent experience
  • Experience of managing Information Governance risk-based improvement programmes within the NHS.
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of developing Information Governance policies and processes in a complex environment where confidential information is stored.
  • Experience of delivering an Information Governance service to a large complex organisation.
  • Prior experience performing information governance reviews and risk assessments including Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Extensive knowledge of data protection processes, including statutory requirements and national policy.
  • Experience in managing transfers of sensitive data between organisations through use of Data Sharing Agreements (DSA) and/or Memorandums of Understanding (MOU)
  • Ability to generate statistics/analysis and write reports on Trust security environment.
  • Knowledge of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (or equivalent standards).
  • Ability to explain complex technical or legal issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior stakeholders and a broad range of stakeholders as required
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of managing stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to analyse very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources
  • Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making
  • Numerate and with analytical skills
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal policies, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated capabilities to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information, working to tight and often changing timescales
