Position Overview
As a Project Superintendent at JGM, you will be responsible for planning and executing work activities with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. This role involves providing technical assistance to the team and working closely with clients, Project Managers, and the Field Operations Manager to ensure a clear understanding of project strategy and specifications. Responsibilities
- Continuously plan and oversee work to ensure the team safely delivers high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Supervise construction efforts to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and specification requirements, while optimizing and tracking progress.
- Interface with clients and the operations team to coordinate project details, offering guidance on procedures and safety requirements.
- Delegate responsibilities and provide ongoing training and development for future foremen and superintendents, while offering constructive feedback.
- Manage multiple craft foremen and disciplines, ensuring effective team collaboration and project success.
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings and specifications accurately.
- Project manpower needs, maintain a network of skilled craftsmen, and assist in hiring to meet project demands.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in industrial construction, steel erection, piping, equipment setting, or maintenance.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience, managing teams of up to 50 across multiple crafts.
- Expertise in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge in one or more crafts (ironworking, rigging, piping, millwrighting).
- Proven leadership skills with a results-driven mindset, adaptability, and strategic thinking.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and respond with urgency.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Procore is .
- OSHA 30 must be completed upon hiring.
- Valid Drivers License required.
- Industrial construction experience ; light fabrication and mechanical experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, regular lifting and carrying to move up to 50 lbs., talking, hearing, reaching, feeling, grasping, and push/pulling.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions/temperatures.
- Regular mental and visual attention much or all the time with manual coordination.
- Flexibility required to travel.
