We are now hiring an Industrial Painter/Polisher for our site in Peterborough.

Are you a skilled and reliable Industrial Painter/Polisher? Were looking for you to join our skilled production team.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for preparing all manufactured parts in either polishing to required standard or applying industrial coatings to metal and fabricated components. You will ensure high-quality finishes which meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. As an Industrial Painter/Finisher you will play a key part in maintaining production schedules and upholding safety & quality standards.

Main Duties
  • Polishing parts to required standard by sanding out welds flat rounding corners
  • Using tools such as sanders belt sanders die grinders orbital sanders
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning masking sanding or shot-blasting as required
  • Applying primers topcoats and other industrial finishes using spray guns or other application methods
  • Inspecting painted surfaces for coverage thickness and consistency according to specifications and drawings
  • Performing touch-ups and rework as needed when contracts are despatched
  • Maintaining a clean safe and organised work area in line with health and safety policies and 5S methodologies
  • Tracking usage and reporting low stock of paints solvents and consumables to the Section Leader
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely completion of production targets
Candidate Profile
  • Ability to work in a team environment and offer improvement ideas
  • No formal qualifications required however experience in industrial panting is essential
  • Familiarity with spray-painting and polishing equipment and safety procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable punctual and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment is ideal
  • Flexibility to work overtime as requiredForklift or overhead crane license beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles beneficial but not essential
