A leading product design studio in Bristol is seeking an exceptional Industrial Design Intern for a 12-month placement starting July 2026. The successful candidate will work across Pharma and Consumer sectors, supporting multi-disciplinary teams in research, concept definition, prototyping, and visualisation. Candidates should be working towards or have graduated from a degree in Industrial Design with strong skills in software such as Solidworks and Adobe Creative Suite. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members across different disciplines to fulfil design briefs.
  • Support the Industrial Design team on projects from ideation to visualisation.
  • Assist with internal brand projects and stay updated with design trends.

Position Overview

Crux Product Design is seeking an exceptional Industrial Design Intern to join our growing team at our Bristol studio, for a 12 month placement starting July 2026. You will work across Pharma and Consumer sectors within multi-disciplinary teams and will support on research, concept definition, hands‑on prototyping and visualisation activities.

You will thrive in this role by embodying a proactive, action‑oriented mindset, consistently surpassing expectations and operating with a keen sense of vision and integrity. You will bring a strong perspective of current and emerging design trends in order to influence and support world class design outcomes for Crux.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of Crux team members (product designers, engineers, usability experts, business development) to fulfil design briefs.
  • Support the Industrial Design team on live project tasks – from ideation to visualisation.
  • Support the wider Design team at Crux with internal Crux brand projects.
  • Stay on track with emerging design trends and culture in order to regularly update the Design team.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • Working towards or have graduated from a degree in Industrial Design.>
  • Proactive, confident, autonomous designer who can take a brief and run with it.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Proficiency in Keyshot and generative AI visualisation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programmes (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Refined aesthetic sensibility.
  • User‑centred mindset – able to conceptualise experiences as well as products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to cross‑function stakeholders.
Desirable
  • Experience in creating and editing video content.
  • Experience in Figma and Digital Design.
