We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Import/Export and Stock Control Coordinator. Our client is embarking on an exciting new collaboration with a Europe based supplier, with the potential to become the UK Distributor for their products. To support this partnership, we are seeking an experienced Import/Export and Stock Control Coordinator to manage the flow of goods, liaise with international partners, and maintain accurate stock and shipment records.
This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity to shape key processes and play an integral part in a growing international partnership. Based in Long Eaton
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between the UK site and the Turkish supplier.
- Coordinate and manage all import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs and shipping regulations.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor deliveries to ensure on-time receipt of goods.
- Oversee stock control processes, maintaining accurate inventory levels and records in the ERP system.
- Reconcile stock discrepancies and investigate variances.
- Prepare and maintain all relevant import/export documentation.
- Work closely with logistics partners, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth goods movement.
- Produce regular reports and analysis on stock, shipments, and supplier performance using Excel and ERP tools.
- Support the setup and implementation of systems and procedures as the distribution partnership develops.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in import/export operations and stock control (ideally within a distribution or manufacturing environment).
- Strong understanding of customs procedures, documentation, and international trade regulations.
- Previous experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Business Central, Netsuite, or similar).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across different cultures and time zones.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- A proactive approach with the ability to adapt and develop processes in a new role.
