Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is seeking a Work Coach to support customers in transitioning to employment and claiming appropriate benefits. The role involves face-to-face, digital, and telephone contact on site in the DWP estate, delivering tailored coaching and empathetic service.

Responsibilities include helping customers with Universal Credit and other benefits, advising on job-search actions, and building relationships to enable progress toward work.

Qualifications

• Provide customer support on welfare and benefits programmes.
• Advise customers on job search actions in a largely digital world.
• Ensure compliance with Equality Act 2010 and promote equal access to services.
• Build positive relationships with customers to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers claiming welfare benefits (UC, ESA, JSA, Income Support).
• Offer quality job-search advice and match to suitable vacancies.
• Follow up on customer needs and provide appropriate support and referrals.
• Maintain knowledge of local employment opportunities and partner services.
• Make timely decisions based on customer circumstances and workload.
