Qualifications

  • Experience working in a primary school setting with children with special educational needs.
  • Good GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of the different social, cultural, and physical needs of pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide additional support for young people with special educational, social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.
  • Run specific programmes and activities to assist pupils’ individual learning and social needs.
  • Implement the targets on the pupils’ Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Skills

Experience working with children with special educational needs
Good GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Understanding of social, cultural and physical needs
Training in aspects of SEN

Education

NVQ2 or equivalent recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning
