Immigration Lawyer | Senior Associate | Leading Global Firm | Birmingham | Hybrid Working Available

A leading global law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Immigration team in Birmingham. This is a permanent opportunity with flexible hybrid working available.

This is an exciting chance to join a highly regarded immigration practice operating as part of one of the world's largest employment and labour law teams, working with high-profile clients on complex and often cutting-edge matters.

The Role

This is a key hire within the firm's national Immigration team, which sits within the broader Employment, Labour and Pensions group. The work will include a broad range of corporate and strategic immigration matters for high-end UK and international clients across sectors such as:

  • Education
  • Technology and industrials
  • Retail and consumer brands
  • Financial services
  • Utilities and energy

You'll advise on:

  • Sponsor licence applications and ongoing sponsor compliance
  • Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility visas
  • Right to work compliance and training
  • Strategic immigration planning for large-scale business operations
  • Contentious matters such as civil penalties and UKVI audit responses
  • Wider immigration applications (e.g. indefinite leave to remain, spousal and naturalisation applications)
  • You will also support junior lawyers and contribute to internal and client training, thought leadership, and business development.
The Candidate
  • Qualified solicitor with 4-8 years' PQE, ideally with strong UK business immigration experience
  • Excellent knowledge of sponsor duties, visa routes, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience advising corporate clients on immigration strategy and risk
  • Confident working directly with clients and delivering written advice
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring others
  • Able to manage multiple matters and tight deadlines
  • Broader experience in employment law or contentious immigration matters would be a bonus
