We deliver analysis and insights in many formats to subscribers and clients in 170 countries through our four businesses, The Economist, Economist Impact, Economist Intelligence and Economist Education, which uphold our global reputation for excellence and integrity.

The IAM Analyst is an entry‑level position responsible for performing the daily operational tasks necessary to maintain the organization's Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely provisioning of user access, supporting access requests, and assisting with Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) maintenance, audit, and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Provisioning & Support:
  • Execute the provisioning and de‑provisioning of user accounts and access rights across various applications and systems following established procedures.
  • Handle and resolve first‑level and second‑level help desk tickets related to access issues, including forgotten passwords, MFA enrollment, and SSO connectivity problems.
  • Ensure the timely processing of Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) requests.
  • RBAC and Compliance Assistance:
  • Assist senior team members in documenting and maintaining the RBAC role catalog and access policies.
  • Help prepare data and evidence for periodic User Access Reviews (UARs) and internal/external audits.
  • Perform routine checks to ensure access policies are consistently applied and that the principle of least privilege is upheld.
  • SAM Tool Support:
  • Assist in running reports and extracting data from Flexera or Snow Software to validate software assignments and entitlements against IAM records.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of user roles and permissions within the Snow License Manager or Flexera platform to ensure secure access to SAM data.
  • Use SAM data from Snow to support the business in reclaiming unused software access permissions, aligning with access governance goals.
  • System Maintenance & Documentation:
  • Monitor IAM system health and assist with basic operational troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and end‑user training materials for IAM processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience/certifications.
  • Experience: Experience in an IT Support, Help Desk, or introductory Security/IAM role.
  • Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of access control principles and user identity management within an enterprise environment.
  • Technical Familiarity:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory (user/group management).
  • Experience working with a ticketing system (e.g., Jira).
  • Prior exposure to or strong interest in using Software Asset Management (SAM) tools like Flexera or Snow Software.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, critical for accurate provisioning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service and clear documentation.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Hands‑on experience with Flexera/Snow tools
  • Administering user roles or generating compliance reports.
  • Basic knowledge of Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) concepts.
