Shift Lead - Industrial Hygiene

Location: Redditch Shift Pattern: 4 Days On, 3 Days Off (Night Shift) Hours: 18:00 - 05:00 (Includes 1.5 hours unpaid break time) Company: Mitie

Are you an experienced industrial cleaner with a background in manufacturing? Mitie is looking for a dedicated and resilient Shift Lead to join our specialist hygiene team. This is a hands-on leadership role operating in a fast-paced seafood processing facility.

The Role

As a Shift Lead, you won't just be managing the team; you'll be leading from the front. You will ensure the facility meets stringent food safety standards through rigorous "wet cleans" and high-pressure jet washing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a dedicated night shift team, ensuring all cleaning schedules are met to a high standard.
  • Wet Clean Operations: Execute and supervise deep cleaning of production lines, machinery, and factory floors using chemical applications and jet washers.
  • Compliance: Ensure all health and safety protocols (COSHH) and food safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Quality Control: Conduct post-clean inspections to ensure the site is ready for the next day's production.
  • Equipment Care: Maintain and safely store industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals.

This is a demanding environment that requires stamina and a "can-do" attitude. To be successful, you will need:

  • Background: Proven experience in Industrial or Manufacturing cleaning (Food/Beverage experience is highly preferred).
  • Leadership: Experience leading or supervising a team in a manual labor setting.
  • License: A Full UK Driving License is essential.
  • Resilience: Comfort working in wet, cold, and physically demanding environments (seafood factory setting).
