Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a Senior Policy & Change Lead on a 9-month contract based in Warwick or Wokingham. The candidate will manage and implement policies for connecting generation and demand to GB's electricity network, engaging stakeholders, and leading projects to achieve government clean power targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, policy development experience, excellent analytical skills, and project management capabilities. A hybrid working model is available.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with connecting generation and demand to the electricity network.
  • Significant experience in developing policy changes in a major program environment.
  • Knowledge of legal parameters and land rights processes relevant to complex projects.
  • Ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative evidence for independent viewpoints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and identify risks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop tactical policy changes for Connections Reform.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including Transmission Owners and OFGEM.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects ensuring alignment with connections reform methodologies.
  • Conduct readiness checks and planning status checks.
  • Train the policy team in best practices for readiness checks.
  • Draft internal and external communication materials.
  • Analyze complex issues and present findings to diverse audiences.
