Position Overview

HYBRID ROLE - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

A Global Freight Forwarder, based in Cannock, are looking to recruit an experienced Air Freight Import Operator to join their team.

As Air Freight Import Operator, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of air cargo imports, such as preparing and processing import documentation, liaising with airlines and overseas agents, and managing customs clearance.

Core Duties

• Oversee all aspects of an air import shipment, from arrival at the port to final delivery.
• Prepare and process documentation, including airway bills and customs documents.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, ground handlers, and customs brokers.
• Ensure all shipments are cleared through customs accurately and efficiently, in compliance with regulations.
• Trace the progress of shipments throughout transit and provide updates to customers and internal teams.
• Keep clients informed about the status of their shipments.
• Answer calls from customers to gather information and respond to queries.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years Air Freight Import experience, no customs experience is necessary, but must have excellent customer service skills.

Salary is between 32-35K depending on experience.
