Job description

HSE Recruitment are working with a fast growing start up energy business who are seeking a HSEQ Lead to drive compliance and performance as they open up a number of new sites in the UK.

Working with a HSEQ qualified Head of Operations, you will be supported in your role but also be given as much freedom and responsibility as you like. This is a role that you can truly shape.

This role will be hybrid; 2 days at home and 3 days either at the office in Wakefield or out on sites. The sites are going to be all over the UK so a willingness and ability to travel is essential. The office hours in Wakefield are 9-5 so the ability to get there for this time is essential.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Lead the continuous improvement of our QHSE culture and management systems (BMS, QMS, ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001).
  • Advise project, construction and operational teams on best practice and compliance.
  • Champion sustainability, risk management, and a zero-harm culture.
  • Drive accreditation processes, internal audits and training initiatives.
  • Embed safety and quality into every aspect of our operations — from design to delivery.
What we are looking for:
  • Company fit is most important; someone innovative, able to use their initiative, high energy, ambitious, can work at pace and who will be open and honest.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • We are open on backgrounds; someone with fuel, HVO, forecourt, energy experience etc. would be beneficial but we will consider other backgrounds, logistics, construction, engineering, infrastructure and manufacturing.
  • Experience in a similar level role, leading the HSEQ function ideally in a multisite capacity.
  • ISO 9001 experience or an understanding of quality is needed.
  • Knowledge of CDM would also be beneficial.

Salary is between £(phone number removed) + £5,000 car allowance and a15% discretionary bonus.
