HR Officer – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location : Cardiff (site-based)

Salary : Circa £30,000

Hoop PS & HR are delighted to be partnering with an innovative Cardiff-based organisation to recruit a confident and proactive HR Officer on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the CEO, a qualified HR professional, you will gain broad exposure across the HR function and have opportunities for growth and development even within this short-term assignment.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an individual looking to enhance their experience and elevate their skill set. It is a hands-on role for someone comfortable managing Employee Relations casework, providing HR advice, and supporting managers across a variety of HR processes. You will work autonomously while contributing to the wider people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Manage Employee Relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, investigations, appeals, and long-term absence.

Advise managers on performance management, difficult conversations, and workforce planning.

Support HR operations, including onboarding, contracts, benefits, and HR record-keeping.

Review and update HR policies to ensure compliance and best practice.

Use HR data to inform decisions and improve HR processes.

Person Specification

Confident handling Employee Relations cases.

Strong advisory skills and knowledge of UK employment law.

Organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
