We’re on the lookout for an experienced and driven HR Manager to join our team at Tarmac, supporting one of the largest Cement Plants in the UK – Tunstead, as well as our Supply Chain team across the Midlands. This is your opportunity to deliver strategic people goals, partner with key stakeholders across the Business, and shape the future of HR in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Main Responsibilities

As part of the Cement HR team, you’ll partner with stakeholders to deliver a wide range of HR activities that drive success, from employee engagement and change initiatives to talent development and inclusion.

  • Responsible for Managing all operational HR activities for your area, providing professional HR support to all key stakeholders
  • Implement and monitor HR policies and initiatives aligned with Group objectives
  • Lead on talent attraction, development, and succession planning
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies
  • Champion equality, fairness, and consistency in employee relations matters
  • Coach and support site management to build an enabling and engaging culture
  • Maintain strong relationships with trade unions and lead on wage negotiations
  • Drive performance and absence management initiatives providing HR KPI data, analysis, and insights to support decision-making
  • Coordinate the annual performance review process
What We’re Looking For
  • CIPD Qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced large organisation, delivering high quality service and results. Ideally in within heavy industry, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and employment law
  • Proven experience in employee relations, business changes (e.g., TUPE, reorganisations), talent management and a unionised environment
  • Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in driving organisational change and delivering impactful HR projects
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach
  • A passion for fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace culture
