Band 7 (£50,861 to £59,159 per annum)

Location People Safety & Culture Directorate, Lister Street, University Hospital Crosshouse (office based)

What you will do

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to lead and develop our small Medical Staffing Team. This pivotal role plays a key part in supporting the sustainability of our medical and dental workforce, while ensuring robust governance and compliance with national policy and direction.

Reporting to the Deputy HR Director, you will provide expert HR advice and leadership across a range of local, regional, and national programmes specific to the medical and dental workforce—spanning doctors and dentists in training through to career grade medical staff.

You will work closely with the Medical Director and wider medical management teams across the organisation, offering professional expertise in areas such as:

  • Terms and conditions
  • Rota monitoring
  • Appraisal and revalidation
  • Job planning
Knowledge, training and/or experience required

We are looking for a confident and autonomous HR practitioner, ideally with previous NHS experience. You should be educated to Masters level, or possess equivalent experience, and hold CIPD membership.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate advanced interpersonal and communication skills, strong negotiation abilities to reach compromise solutions and the ability to reason and interpret information from a variety of sources.
