Overview

HR Business Partner Role - HR Business Partner - 12 Month Contract. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. 20-25% on-site; the rest can be from home if necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Support and execute the people processes, programs and initiatives within the designated client group(s) aligned with the company's HR and Business strategies to enhance employee and business performance, as directed by the Senior HRBP(s) that they support.
  • Deploy solutions across a range of HR areas including employee relations, change management, talent management, performance management, total rewards, and employee engagement.
  • Employee / Industrial Relations: conduct workplace investigations into serious misconduct, gather information, interview relevant individuals, analyse data, and prepare legally sound documentation to support disciplinary and/or termination actions. Recommends a course of action and coaches management through implementation; minimizes risk with fair, legally sound, fully documented, and unbiased actions.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues; communicate and collaborate with the respective Snr HR Business Partner.
  • Support managers in the performance management process, including conversations with employees and development/review of performance improvement plans and corrective actions.
  • Implements terminations including termination letters, termination meetings, and related documentation.
  • Prepare statistical reports of types and frequency of actions to identify problem areas; partner with ER/IR Manager as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure consistent application and interpretation of company policies and contracts.
  • In unionized environments, partner with the ER/IR Manager to facilitate resolution of labour grievances, disputes, and employee issues; conduct investigations and coordinate arbitrations as appropriate; interpret Enterprise Agreements and support the ER/IR Manager in grievance procedures; some work may be directed by the ER/IR Manager in conjunction with the Sr HRBP.
HR Programs & Initiatives
  • Assist in the execution of the derived strategy formed by Sr HRBP(s) for the assigned client group(s).
  • Partner with Sr HRBPs (local and global) to deliver integrated solutions across HR areas including employee relations, change management, talent management, performance management, total rewards and employee engagement.
  • Ensure that HR initiatives and actions align with the desired culture.
  • Understand the business and HR drivers and metrics.
Performance Management
  • Deliver the cyclical end-to-end Performance Review and Development process for client groups.
  • Educate designated business leaders on performance planning and review processes including SMART objectives and effective feedback.
  • Educate leaders on the importance of differentiating individual performance.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience as an HRBP with strong knowledge of employment-related laws; able to manage broad employee relations cases and investigations; strong customer focus, results orientation, and sense of urgency.
  • Strong influencing, communication (written and verbal) and business acumen; ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Industrial experience in unionized locations preferred; conflict resolution; strong coaching and advisory skills; experience with Workday.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships; strong ability to work with minimum supervision.
