The Opportunity

Are you a pragmatic, hands‑on HR professional who thrives in the high‑energy environment of a growing manufacturing business? We are seeking an HR Business Partner to join a highly successful manufacturing business that has seen substantial growth. This is a visible position being on the shop floor and in the management offices, providing stability and expertise to a high‑performing team.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be a key driver of people operations across a complex, fast‑moving site. You will act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, ensuring the workforce is aligned with the company’s ambitious growth targets.

  • Operational Excellence: Lead on complex ER case management, providing independent and legally sound advice.
  • Compliance & Audit: Take a lead role in ensuring the site is "audit‑ready", maintaining the highest industry standards.
  • Culture & Engagement: Champion an "open‑door" policy, maintaining a noteworthy culture centred on teamwork and honesty.
  • Process Improvement: Actively challenge existing ways of working, suggesting technical and procedural advances to streamline the HR function.
  • Recruitment & Talent: Manage direct recruitment at all levels while coaching managers on best practices and management capability.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a resourceful and detail‑oriented professional who understands the unique pressures of a 24/7 fast paced manufacturing operation.

  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience at HR Officer/BP level within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law and significant experience in handling complex ER investigations and grievances.
  • Systems Savvy: Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills and experience with integrated HR/Payroll systems.
  • Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 qualification is essential.
  • Attributes: You must be a "people person" who can build relationships across all levels, from production line to senior leadership.
