Job description
About us

Join UCL, London's Global University, where we tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges through world-class teaching and research. Our HR Division plays a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent to support this mission. Within HR, the Strategy and Development team drives transformation by introducing best practices, leveraging data-driven insights, and delivering innovative HR service offerings. We work collaboratively across Centres of Excellence to ensure consistency and continuous improvement, shaping a modern HR function that supports UCL's ambitious goals.

About the role

As an HR Analytics Project Manager, you will help build the foundations of our HR Analytics capability, leading a range of projects focused on data analytics within the HR, people and culture function. This is an exciting opportunity to transition from static reporting to dynamic, interactive dashboards using MS Power BI. You will manage end-to-end delivery; liaising with senior stakeholders, gathering data requirements, and building a backlog of reports and dashboards that meet organisational needs. Your role will involve coordinating cross‑functional teams, ensuring robust testing, and embedding continuous improvement. Ultimately, you will enable data-driven decision-making across HR and the wider organisation, helping us tell compelling stories through insights.

Key responsibilities include
  • Developing a comprehensive HR Analytics service offering to enable stakeholders to access accurate, actionable data
  • Capturing current reporting requirements and designing future‑state solutions using advanced visualisation tools
  • Working with the leadership team to define an analytics roadmap aligned with technical standards and design principles
  • Project managing and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely delivery against agreed plans
  • Liaising with technical teams to remove business and functional barriers and ensure smooth implementation
  • Designing testing protocols to guarantee dashboard accuracy and secure sign-off from data owners.

Please note, this is a 12-months fixed term contract available to start immediately. The role is offered on a hybrid basis at our London Kings Cross office – the postholder will be based onsite at Bidborough House 2-days per week (plus additional days if required).

About you

You are a seasoned Project Manager with proven experience delivering HR analytics projects. You have a good understanding of analytics and can confidently translate business and technical requirements into actionable solutions. You will bring strong knowledge of MS Power BI and visualisation techniques, combined with the ability to develop and prioritise a reporting backlog. Additionally, your communication and influencing skills allow you to collaborate effectively across multi‑disciplinary teams, and your proactive approach ensures you drive progress and deliver results.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Experience working alongside and managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • In-depth knowledge of HR Analytics best practice
  • Proven experience delivering projects and services end-to-end, preferably in HR Reporting and Analytics.
