The Role Scope
To provide support and HR advice to departments and assist with the HR function for the Company.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment and selection – including advertising; attending recruitment fairs; interviewing; selection.
- Providing sound HR advice to departments as required.
- Organising and administering leavers.
- Managing changes to terms and conditions and confirmations of probationary periods.
- Advising on discipline and grievance issues and ensuring correct procedures are followed.
- Providing advice on staff consultation; staying up to date on legislation and implementing policy changes.
- Absence management; assisting with the annual staff survey; assisting with the security access system.
- Overseeing staff inductions and the prevention of illegal workers; managing the protection of young workers.
- Management of company benefits; headcount monitoring; maintaining/updating departmental job descriptions.
- Assisting with the overall training programme for the company; ensuring maternity/paternity/parental leave is monitored.
- Attend internal and external meetings to represent the department and/or Company; attend training courses and keep professional qualifications up to date.
- Work safely with due regard for yourself, visitors, contractors and colleagues; comply with Health and Safety policy.
- Any other duties as required to meet the business needs of the department.
About You
- Effective communicator; confident and proactive; assertive and diplomatic.
- Organised with excellent attention to detail; professional and highly confidential.
- Experience in an HR generalist role; excellent working knowledge of current employment law.
