Job description
Overview

Working at Noddfa hostel in Colwyn Bay, you'll support people with their housing needs and life skills in a person‑centred, trauma‑informed way and contribute to the safe running of the hostel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support service users with mental health and wellbeing, encouraging healthy activities and lifestyles, and signposting to services
  • Assist with claims for housing and associated benefits to support residents' financial stability
  • Organise and manage a range of engaging activities to promote social inclusion
  • Play a hands‑on role in responding to incidents, completing room checks and ensuring properties are maintained
  • Maintain accurate service user records and files
  • Perform regular security and fire safety checks
Qualifications and Experience
  • Ability to hold everyday conversations in Welsh or willingness to learn
  • Experience working in a client‑centred environment such as housing, care or similar (e.g. supporting individuals in reporting maintenance issues, making healthcare appointments, pursuing hobbies, securing training and employment)
  • Knowledge of the support needs of vulnerable people
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Hard‑working with a positive 'can do' attitude
  • Basic IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Optional: Awareness of issues and support needs connected to homelessness, fire safety and security systems, specialist agencies including drug, alcohol and mental health services

Contract & Compensation
  • Permanent contract – 24 hours per week (Friday and Saturday nights 9 pm to 9 am)
  • £12.97 per hour + monthly night worker allowance of £38.22
  • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro‑rata)
