Overview

Be the first point of support for residents, ensuring homes are safe, communities strong, and services delivered with care.

Working Style

You will be based in the Borough for 4 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community and making a real difference to residents' lives.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a familiar and trusted contact for residents, supporting them across a wide range of housing issues with an emphasis on a varied, fast‑paced environment.
  • Manage tenancy relationships: carry out tenancy audits, give advice on housing options and successions, prepare legal documentation, and take enforcement action where necessary.
  • Maintain allocations and ensure that void properties are re‑let quickly to keep the estate running smoothly.
  • Collect income: proactively manage rent accounts and service charges, agree repayment plans, provide advice on Universal Credit and Housing Benefit, and represent the Council in legal proceedings when matters cannot be resolved.
  • Lead neighbourhood management: collaborate with cleaning, maintenance and grounds teams to keep blocks and communal spaces safe, clean and welcoming; conduct inspections, report and resolve issues such as graffiti or fly‑tipping and respond quickly to concerns.
  • Lead anti‑social behaviour cases, working with residents, police and partners to improve safety and cohesion.
  • Build relationships: engage residents and community groups, involve them in shaping services, and ensure health and safety standards are met consistently.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Hands‑on experience in housing management – tenancy and rent services, anti‑social behaviour or neighbourhood management.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation, particularly social housing tenancies and anti‑social behaviour.
  • Dynamic, adaptable, highly organised and able to manage a varied caseload in a busy environment.
  • Excellent people skills, confidence to deal with challenging situations fairly, assertively and with empathy.
  • Commitment to delivering a high‑quality, resident‑focused service and living the Council’s values.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is helpful but not essential.
  • Standard DBS check is required.

Remuneration

We are committed to fair, transparent and consistent pay practices. New hires will start at the minimum of the advertised salary range. Employees receive annual salary increases until they reach the top of the pay scale, and any agreed cost of living pay rises.
