A local authority organization in Winchester is seeking a Housing Officer to deliver high-quality housing management services. Responsibilities include managing tenancies, handling customer support, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This is an exciting role within Winchester City Council's Landlord Services team.
We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in delivering a customer focussed, high quality housing management service within our housing portfolio of 5000 general needs and sheltered housing properties.
In this role, you will be one of 6 Housing Officers responsible for delivering housing management services to our customers within a designated patch in the Winchester district. This includes supporting customers signing up for their new tenancies, managing tenancy changes and enforcement, managing complex tenancy cases and cases of nuisance and anti‑social behaviour, preparing and serving legal paperwork, representing the Council at Court, making appropriate referrals to tenancy support and sustainment and providing assistance with rent arrears and estate management when required.
You will have a strong housing management background, evidenced ability to understand and meet customer needs whilst managing difficult conversations to ensure service providers are held to account for the services they provide to the vulnerable customers and communities we serve.
It is essential that you have experience of working in housing management and can evidence your knowledge and understanding of housing law and regulatory obligations.
