Housing Manager

Working across properties in the East Sussex area

Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw)

Circa £32,000 - £35,000

Join us as a Housing Manager at Home Group, in our awesome housing team in the South East covering our East Sussex Patch. You’ll be our face to face customer support to our estates, ensuring we provide safe homes and communities where people choose to live, while also ensuring our income is maximised. You’ll provide first class customer service, delivering our customer promise every day! This is a great time to join as one of the estates has been identified as a Priority Estate with exciting Community Development work taking place.

What you’ll do
  • Engage with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to get to know our communities
  • You’ll look after a number of patches and neighbourhoods
  • Managing anti-social behaviours in our estates, responding to customer queries and complaints
  • Managing our voids process including liaising with local authorities
  • Carry out estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, as well as carrying out and recording the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities

You have
  • Experience in the housing sector and understand housing management, housing law and in an ideal world, universal credit too!
  • You have, or are willing to work towards Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3
  • Super organised and methodical in your approach, you’re also a proactive self-starter with a “can do” positive attitude
  • This job can challenge, especially when we’re dealing with complaints but your resilience will help you through.
  • Confident working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MP’s etc
The practical bits
  • This is a hybrid role and in an average week, you’ll spend 2-3 days working from our community patches across sites in Wealden, Uckfield and Eastbourne among others.
  • Although you’ll spend time in our neighbourhoods, we do get together regularly virtually and in person in our communities, with time working from home catching up on admin.
  • We have regular anchor days in our Liverpool Street office (London).
  • We mainly work Monday to Friday and work occasional evenings to meet with customers. The great news is that you’ll be able to shape your own diary.
  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
  • You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
