Job description

We are looking for a housekeeper with a flexible approach to work, to join our existing team to help ensure all areas are kept to the highest standards. Catering experience would be an advantage, but not essential. We couldn’t run our sites without you and the fantastic work you will do keeping our wards, departments and areas clean, tidy, reducing the risk of infections and effectively helping keep our staff well and our patients safe. Our people are working hard behind the scenes to provide safe, clean, well‑maintained environments for patients and their NHS colleagues during this challenging time. You will become part of a team who are passionate about supporting the NHS and its people in their vital work by keeping premises clean and safe.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Undertake cleaning duties throughout the sites, which will include clinical departments, offices, sanitary and communal areas.
  • Empty, clean and re‑line general and clinical waste bins, segregating waste for disposal to appropriate holding areas.
  • Replenish supplies of soap, toilet rolls, paper towels etc.
  • Periodic cleaning maintenance of carpets and other floor surfaces.
  • Maintain departmental records where appropriate, e.g. cleaning forms, temperature sheets etc.
  • Occasional curtain changing.
  • Use all equipment and cleaning products in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
