Join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust as a Housekeeper and help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors across our three sites.

Job Purpose

Assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, staff and visitors. Carry out general cleaning duties in all areas of the hospital and apply specialist cleaning methods using appropriate materials and equipment where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean allocated work area to agreed standards and frequencies as detailed in work schedules
  • Carry out specialised cleaning tasks including isolation rooms, theatres and other specialist areas to agreed standards
  • Use specialist Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour equipment to decontaminate rooms in line with IPCT guidelines and record information accurately
  • Follow instructions and suggest changes in working practices where appropriate
  • Safely remove body fluid spillages in public and communal areas in line with IPCT guidelines
  • Wear correct PPE at all times in line with IPCT guidelines
  • Clean surfaces including edges, ledges, fixtures and fittings using correct methods and equipment
  • Clean hard and soft floors using correct methods and equipment
  • Clean sanitary areas using correct methods and equipment
  • Carry out high and low level cleaning using correct methods and equipment
  • Replenish supplies of paper handtowels, toilet rolls, soap, hand sanitizer and hand conditioner
  • Use mechanical equipment as required and report defective equipment to the housekeeping supervisor
  • Adhere to the departmental colour coding policy and Trust Infection Control policies and procedures
