Grantley Hall in Harrogate is seeking a proactive Hotel Porter to deliver exceptional guest service and seamless hospitality experiences. You will assist guests with luggage, coordinate with various hotel teams, and help prepare rooms and event spaces while maintaining the property’s luxury standards.

The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with a full driving license, strong communication skills, and a warm, guest-focused approach to every interaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure every guest enjoys a memorable welcome and stay with top-tier service.
• Assist guests with luggage and manage luggage delivery to rooms or cars.
• Have knowledge of local area to arrange activities and routes for guests.
• Maintain 5-star standards in lobby, rooms, and public spaces.
• Assist in room setup and event preparation as needed.
• Keep lobby and surrounding areas spotless and dust-free.
• Follow safety and appearance standards as instructed by management.
• Support other hotel departments during busy periods.
• Be proactive during quieter times to anticipate guest needs.
• Uphold polite etiquette and impeccable grooming at all times.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that every guest has an excellent and memorable welcome and stay at the hotel, enjoying excellent service and hospitality
• Assist guests with their luggage, ensuring the luggage arrives at the guest's bedroom in a timely manner, taking luggage to the guest's car and stored securely when necessary
• Having a varied knowledge of the local area/Yorkshire, the ability to schedule arrangements for guests such as carriages, valet cleaning & route planning
• Ensuring all guests' needs are exceeded at every opportunity
• Moving furniture and setting up rooms for events when required, ensuring the hotels' 5-star standards are met
• Ensuring the hotel lobby and surrounding areas are kept spotless, polishing reflective surfaces and ensuring they are dust free throughout
• Maintaining the appearance, cleanliness and safety standards which are set out by management
• Assisting in other areas of the hotel when needed
• Ensuring that you stay proactive during less demanding periods
• Must possess a polite etiquette
• Must have impeccable grooming standards
