THE EMPLOYER IS: EAST BELFAST MISSIONThis role involves working in our homeless hostel to provide support and contribute to the general care and welfare of the service users under the direction and supervision of the Hostel Manager.

Responsibilities
  • To provide emotional support and advice to service users.
  • To deliver key working to small case load.
  • To ensure health and safety procedures are adhere to.
  • To ensure a homely and safe environment.
  • To liaise with other service providers as appropriate.
  • To ensure room turnover and booking in processes.
  • To effectively deal with incidents and accidents.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Six month’s experience in the field of homelessness or residential care or equivalent. Acceptable equivalent experience may be considered as youth/community work and mental health work.
  • Communication skills and the ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and security issues in a residential establishment.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the support needs of service users.
