Job description

I am looking for a manager for a lovely children's home in Swindon. The role comes with an excellent salary, great benefits and the opportunity to wok for an organisation that truly values it's staff as well.

You will lead an established 2-bed Ofsted-registered children' home with a good Ofsted rating, supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). I am seeking someone who currently is a Deputy looking for their first management role.

Roles and responsibilities

The Home Manager will play a vital role in shaping the culture and success of the home.

  • Leading rota management and staff supervision.
  • Supporting the development and wellbeing of your team.
  • Overseeing care plans and striving for the best possible outcomes for each young person.
  • Embedding the9 Quality Standards into everyday practice.
  • Applying your knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Building strong relationships with external agencies and advocating effectively when needed.
  • Celebrating achievements for the children and the team.
  • Managing the home's budget and spending responsibly.
  • Handling administrative duties and report writing with confidence.
  • Leading safeguarding practices in line with company policies and regulatory expectations.
To be considered for this role you will need
  • At least 2 years' experience in a deputy manager role relevant to residential childcare
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage the home effectively while delivering high-quality care.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards.
