Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote mental wellbeing.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate care records in line with policies.
  • Support meal preparation, feeding, and hydration according to nutritional needs.
  • Help with mobility and use of mobility aids or lifting equipment (if trained).
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or community outings.
  • Report any changes in health or behavior to the care coordinator or supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for clients.
  • Comply with GracePath Healthcares safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Basic education (Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent).
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to care for others.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS (criminal background) checks.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided.
  • International applicants with relevant family caregiving or volunteer care experience are encouraged to apply.
Working Hours
  • Full-Time: 35–48 hours per week.
  • Shifts: Morning, evening, weekend, and occasional night shifts available.
  • Flexibility is essential to meet client needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Awareness of infection prevention and control standards.
  • Understanding of privacy, dignity, and person-centred care principles.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different care situations and client personalities.
