Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to operate within the Patrol division. You’ll perform diagnostics, roadside repairs, and emergency breakdown services across the UK while staying calm under pressure and delivering exceptional member service.

You’ll begin and end your day at home, working in your local area with a RAC van, fuel card, and full tools provided. The role focuses on variety, autonomy, and helping members return to the road quickly.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support with quick, confident solutions.
• Start and end each day at home with RAC van provided.
• Maintain high-quality member service on every call.

Education

2+ years’ experience

5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
