Hoist Engineer / Hoist Installer
Location: Irlam, Manchester - with travel.
We’re partnering with a well-established, rapidly scaling SME at the forefront of hoist hire solutions across the UK. With a strong pipeline of projects and continued investment in operational excellence, the organisation is looking to onboard an additional Hoist Engineer as part of its strategic workforce expansion.
This is a high-visibility, field-based engineering role centred around delivering safe, efficient installation and maintenance of inclined and vertical hoisting systems used across construction environments. You’ll join a tight-knit technical team and play a critical role in enabling customers to move materials safely and effectively at height.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain a range of rental hoisting systems, including inclined and vertical hoists.
- Operate primarily across the M62 corridor, with regular work throughout the North West and Yorkshire.
- Carry out occasional nationwide work, which may require overnight stays.
- Deliver high-quality customer service as the front-line engineering representative.
- Utilise tablet-based systems to complete job information, reporting and compliance documentation.
- Attend the depot each morning before travelling to customer sites.

Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who thrives in an autonomous, field-focused environment and brings a practical, solutions-led mindset.
You will bring:
- Experience working “on the tools” within mechanical, electrical, plant, or site-based environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical understanding.
- Confidence working at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
- A proactive approach to customer interaction and problem-solving.
- Ability to work without supervision while contributing positively to team operations.
- Full UK driving licence (Trailer licence beneficial but not essential).
- CSCS card or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Installations is advantageous but not mandatory.

Benefits & Package
- Salary: £33,280 – £45,760 (equivalent to £14–£22 per hour depending on experience)
- Hours: Mon–Thu 07:15–16:15, Fri 07:15–13:15 (40 hours per week)
