About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate support professional to play a pivotal role in enhancing student learning and achievement across a variety of subjects.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning activities, deliver pre-planned lessons to groups or whole classes, and provide targeted intervention to help students reach their full potential. You will contribute to raising standards of achievement by utilising your initiative, adaptability, and understanding of educational needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons or learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Support teachers in the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
  • Provide one-to-one or small group interventions to address learning gaps
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Support pupils with additional needs, both academically and emotionally
  • Assist with planning and preparing resources for learning activities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
