The Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead whole‑class sessions and small‑group teaching under teacher guidance
  • Deliver differentiated and targeted learning activities, including for pupils with SEND
  • Support personalised learning through adapted resources and evidence‑based interventionsProvide mentoring and support to other classroom assistants
  • Contribute to a calm, positive and values‑led classroom environment
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, contributing to planning and assessment
  • Promote independence, resilience and personal development
  • Work in partnership with teachers, families and external professionals
Person Specification
  • Hold an HLTA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have experience working with primary‑aged pupils, ideally including SEN support
  • Are confident adapting learning for a wide range of abilities and needs
  • Possess strong communication, organisation and behaviour‑management skills
  • Are reflective, compassionate and able to work collaboratively
