Speedy Hire PLC is seeking a proactive Hire Desk Controller to manage customer enquiries, bookings and orders, coordinating with depots to ensure timely delivery and collection of equipment. You will build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to maximise hire revenue and deliver excellent service.

The role emphasises teamwork, accuracy and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service, hire desk, sales administration or similar role.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
• Good attention to detail and confidence using computer systems.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of delivering great customer service.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing customer hire enquiries, bookings, extensions and off-hires.
• Providing excellent customer service by telephone, email and through our internal systems.
• Processing hire orders, quotations and associated documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinating equipment availability, deliveries and collections with depots and operations teams.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to maximise hire revenue and support business growth.
• Resolving customer queries and ensuring issues are dealt with promptly and professionally.
• Maintaining accurate customer records and hire information.
• Supporting the wider team to achieve service levels and targets.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with procedures.
