Job description
Overview

The Hindu Chaplain will provide compassionate, faith-sensitive pastoral and spiritual care to patients, families and staff across the Trust. Responsibilities include ward visits, religious rites, bereavement support, and collaboration with clinical teams. The role also involves ad hoc on-call cover, maintaining sacred spaces, and supporting service development. The postholder will ensure continuity of care during the current Chaplain's career break, contributing to holistic healthcare and staff wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Be a member of the multi-faith hospital chaplaincy team offering pastoral, spiritual and religious care to all patients, visitors and staff.
  • Provide specialist pastoral, spiritual and religious advice and care for Hindu patients, families and staff.
  • Offer ecumenical support to individuals from other faith communities.
  • Maintain, participate in and develop pastoral, spiritual and religious care in the Trust through providing support, training and facilitation of reflective practice, including ethical considerations for all staff under the guidance of the Lead Chaplain.
  • Assist with the supervision and direction of chaplaincy support for all, including recruitment, training, and support of chaplaincy volunteers.
